Lucas
This guy entered my life at the end of January. He turned one year old on March 16th, 2026.
He had a really tough time as a young pup - he was left behind when folks in West Texas had to flee the wildfires last summer. The rescue gang network (see tab below) is composed of good people that find these endangered animals and transport them in a vehicular ‘chain gang’ to move them from seriously unhealthy conditions to a place where they can find a better life. Gretchen, who had him as a foster pup for three months before me, really eased his way into the new situation, and made it possible for me to take this guy in and treat him like my best friend.
I will continue to make adjustments to this page, as his influence on my life grows.
Being just a kid, and a miniature bull terrier mutt full of energy, he’s taught me a very, very important life lesson:
It’s important to take time and PLAY every day. Even for five minutes. No devices, no pre-planning, no agenda - just PLAYING in its most raw and basic form. It’s changed my outlook, attitude, and overall sense of well-being in the most positive way possible. Thank you, Lucas!
